As one of the mutants from the X-Men, Emma Frost had enormous powers. She was able to transform her skin and hair into a smooth, flexible and translucent diamond at will. Diamonds are the hardest natural minerals known, and like a diamond this gave Emma her superior strength and durability. She didn’t need water or food, never got tired and was immune from cold and emotions. A real ice queen! However, like a diamond which is almost invulnerable, Emma frost did have one flaw. If she was shot by a diamond bullet this could cause her body to shatter. It was thought that the exact location of the flaw in her diamond body was between her eyes.
Not only was she practically invulnerable, she had amazing telepathic and psychic abilities. She could control minds, alter perceptions and memories as well as being able to astrally project. She could also induce mental pain by a mere touch. However, she was not able to use her psychic abilities whilst in the diamond form.
Emma Frost first appeared in an episode of Marvel Comics called the Uncanny X-Men in 1980. She was given the title of IGN Comic’s “Hottest Comic Book Babe” in 2005 and in 2008 was voted number 30 on Empire’s Top 50 Great Comic Books characters.
A young Emma Frost appeared in the 2009 movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
